firefox/mozilla forks recent menu vanishes and how to get it back

Nice trick that works coming from Reik Reid in the VTWM community

Firefox and some of its clones in recent times, when used in a non-systemd, non-DM, non-dbus/logind environment they open up without the topline menus being visible.  Mozilla trying to log and control through those spying environments all they can will allow the menus to vanish when their spying gadgets aren’t present.

Simple fix:

1  go to address bar and type about:config as an address

it will give you a warning and a checked box, uncheck the irritating thing

2 start typing slowly on the top box/search area

   widget.gtk.grab-pointer

you will see a bunch of configuration lines on widget that keep getting fewer as you type on

The possible values are 0 1 2, librewolf currently has it on 2 but I’ve had one past librewolf edition (114 I think) that had the menus vanish as well.  Something drastic went on in mozilla engine between 113 and 114.3

Set this value on 1, not 0 not 2 but 1

if your menu had disappeared you will get it back

And this is how we move along the war front against the corporations trying to control our data, trying to steer us to their “universal” options instead of what we want, like, and need, they are trading convenience, ease, and automation, for “a value” we provide by abiding to their steering and forcing.  mozilla, ibm, google, intel, amd, facebook, …. it doesn’t matter who they are, there is no bad and worse, they are all evil and against us.  Do not ever forget it!
